I'm an Air Force kid, born in Panama City, Florida, and I've lived ten different places.
The summer before high school, my dad was moved to Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington D.C.
In high school, I was involved in every theatre production and my biggest role was as Alice Beineke in The Addams Family.
I also took marketing classes and was on the competitive marketing team, DECA.
I attended Oklahoma City University specifically for the BA Theatre & Performance degree. I loved that I was able to earn two minors, focus on new works, and study abroad.
Since graduating, I fractured my knee, went on tour for 8 months, and became a teacher at an elementary school back home in Virginia!
For most of 2022, I was on the road as a
Tour Actor/Director with
Missoula Children's Theatre! MCT has a special place in my heart because I grew up doing their shows like
Alice in Wonderland.
(see me as Alice in the picture at the top of the page.)
I spent time in Montana, Central East Coast, Canada, and even with the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind. In a team of two I cast, taught, directed, choreographed, and tech'd new performances of Hansel & Gretel every week!
With the nationwide teaching shortage, I decided to become an elementary teacher in the fall of 2022. I was originally hired as a 4th grade teacher, but was moved to the Gifted position after December. I learned so much from both roles and loved being called "Miss Lu."
Although I love teaching, I miss theatre! I am currently traveling the country to experience some of the major theatre cities in the U.S. in preparation to move in the new year.
